Registered Professional Foresters must prepare site plans for those areas covered under a Forest Stewardship Plan for a road or harvest area prior to commencing harvesting or road construction activities. The content requirements of a site plan must: - identify the approximate location of the roads or harvest areas
- identify how the intended results and strategies in the approved Forest Stewardship Plan apply to the site
- identify the standard units in the net area to be reforested and the corresponding stocking standards and soil disturbance limits
- be consistent with the Forest Stewardship Plan, Forest and Range Practices Act (FRPA), and the regulations. Those site plans or silviculture prescriptions associated with road or cutting permits in effect prior to the implementation of FSPs will continue to be subject to the Forest Practices Code.
There are no requirements in the FRPA for public review and comment of site plans, but they must be publicly available upon request. They will be made available during regular office hours at the Downie Timber Ltd. and Selkirk Cedar Ltd. office located in Revelstoke, BC; Canada. |
